At Christ Church we aim to offer a warm welcome to you - whatever your gender, race, sexual orientation, marital status, disability or religious background. As Christians, our faith is founded on the bible, but we try to make sense of it intelligently, recognising its cultural and historical setting, as we struggle together to deepen our understanding of what it means to be a Christian. If you are prepared to be challenged, to think, to laugh, to cry - and to be changed - and if you have a social conscience and a keen sense of justice, you will probably feel at home with us at Christ Church. We have strong musical tradition. Our Director of Music, who is an innovative composer in his own right, leads our choir, which sings at two services each Sunday. Our music embraces the best of both the old and the new: traditional hymns take their place alongside new worship songs. Our church building is an outstanding example of early Victorian church architecture and is listed Grade II*. The Martin Heath Hall, adjacent to the church, is the meeting place of a large number of local organisations. Christ church School is a successful and popular primary with very close links to our church. Our services follow a weekly pattern. Please contact us for details of any seasonal variations.
